NAVAL, Biliran - Hon. Aldrin A. Darilag, CHED Commissioner and Chairperson of the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) Board of Regents, expressed his commitment in supporting the development of learners through sports in his message during the opening ceremonies of SCUAA 2019, hosted by Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) Naval Campus, December 8.
Darilag extended his sincerest felicitations to the five thousand delegates from the 11 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) of Region VIII in the 2019 State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Regional Athletic Meet.
“This year’s theme ‘Advancing Partnership for Sustainability through Sports,’ reflects the essence of coming together and braving through healthy competition while building camaraderie among our students, faculty, coaches, and administrators,” he said.
Darilag further announced that students will have the opportunity to represent their respective colleges and universities, to reinforce the values of fairness, equality, sportsmanship discipline, inclusion, perseverance and respect.
“These key learnings that can be acquired through sports are indeed essential for both human development and nation building,” he emphasized.
Hon. Darilag also congratulated the supportive parents of the athletes, and the coaches because of their steadfast determination that he highly believes the reason of enhanced motivation of the players resulting in increased focus and resilience.
“Coaches and parents serves as a role model to the athletes, the capabilities, abilities and skills will be optimized to a level that surprises us as they exceed expectations. To our athletes, you are expected to compete and deliver your best for yourselves, your families, your communities, and your school. Go and prove that you can bring home medals and can lead your respective teams to victory,” Hon. Darilag said.
