BiPSU facilitates dialogues on Phronetic Leadership, Hiraya Foresight, and Reforming the Higher Education sector

The Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), through the Institutional Planning Office (IPO), has facilitated learning sessions on Phronetic Leadership, Hiraya Foresight, and Reforming the Higher Education Sector during its 1st Leg of Enrichment Activities in line with the Strategic Planning for the fiscal year (FY) 2022.

Dr. Lizan Perante-Calina, Dean of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) Graduate School of Public & Development Management, President of the Philippine Society for Public Administration, and President of Philippine Futures Thinking Society, served as the resource person on the Phronetic Leadership and the Hiraya Foresight in Higher Education. Discussions were centered on contextualizing Leadership and Education in a 21st-century era and the importance of incorporating and embedding Futures Thinking in Capacitating Educators for the Learners, Hiraya Foresight, and Phronetic Leadership under the Futures Leadership and Governance Framework (Perante-Calina 2020), and practical application of the framework to BiPSU and in Higher Education.

On the other hand, Dr. Aser Javier, President and Chief Consultant of Elkhorn Governance Consulting Co. based in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, and international education consultant, discussed Thought Leadership in Higher Education Institutions. Dr. Javier coveren the higher education system areas as solutions generator, collaborator and performer, and thought leaders.

The 1st leg of enrichment activities is one of the series of workshops and learning sessions organized by the Institutional Planning Office (IPO).
