Biliran Province State University, through its International Affairs Office (IAO), organized a Training Workshop on the Development of BiPSU Internationalization Framework and Strategies Towards a Strong National and International Partnerships and Collaborations on March 6-8, 2024 at the BiPSU Hyflex Audio-Visual Center (HAVC).

The workshop aimed to identify internal and external factors driving the university’s internationalization efforts, assess its existing internationalization programs, and explore opportunities for international academic and research partnerships.

Facilitated by Prof. Bryan C. Dayuta, Director of the Linkages and International Office at the Philippine Normal University (PNU), the event saw participation from school deans representing both the main and Biliran campuses. Also present were focal persons from each school, along with directors from key offices such as External Affairs, Extension Services, and Research and Development.

BiPSU President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr. addressed the participants on navigating the challenges and seizing the opportunities that internationalization presents for the betterment of the faculty, students, and staff, through adopting a unified, programmatic, and sustainable approach towards internationalization.

Under the newly crafted Strategic Internationalization Plan, BiPSU aims to improve the key areas mainly on 1) International Network of Higher Education Institutions and Industries; 2) International Research Collaboration and Partnerships; 3) Academic Development and Growth; 4) Student and Faculty Mobility; 5) Faculty Exchanges and Knowledge Transfer; and 6) Provision of Support and Resources.
