Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) marked the achievements of the November 2023 Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE) passers with a testimonial ceremony at the university gymnasium on January 10. The event, spearheaded by the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS), provided an opportunity for the new nurses to share their stories and celebrate their achievements in the presence of friends, families, teachers, and former colleagues.
During the ceremony, BiPSU President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr. congratulated the new nurses for reaching another milestone. He expressed gratitude to the SNHS faculty and staff, officials, industry partners, and the community for their pivotal role and contribution to the success of the new nurses. Dr. Cañezo stated, "Together, we have created an environment of excellence and nurturing, enabling you to reach new heights."
The program included a testimony speech from one of the passers, Ms. Shevawn Pearl Loreno, RN. Ms. Loreno shared insights into the challenges she encountered as a nursing student and reflected on the demanding nature of the profession. She also expressed the triumphant feeling of bearing the title "RN" as part of her last name, emphasizing the significance of overcoming the challenges leading up to the exams.
Notably, BiPSU achieved an outstanding passing percentage of 94.83% for first-time takers in the November 2023 NLE. Additionally, the university obtained a 91.94% overall institutional passing percentage, surpassing the 80.00% national passing percentage.
