Biliran Province State University is true to its mission in championing human empowerment.

In partnership with the UnLeash International, BiPSU, through the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance and the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), conducted the first-ever Hybrid Financial Literacy Training held last April 20 at the University Gymnasium and through Zoom.

Teaching and non-teaching personnel of the University aged 45 years old and up attended the said training.

University President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, in his welcome message, emphasized the importance of being literate in the effective management of finances.

"Conducting a Financial Literacy Webinar and Training, we can empower you,  our dear employees and faculty. And by having financial literate employees in the university we can ensure more productive and focused employees in the work. This eventually will lead us to the integration of the University mission and vision, and that is human empowerment," Dr. Cañezo added.

53 teaching and 48 non-teaching personnel attended the in-person training held at the BiPSU Gymnasium, and other 44 participants participated virtually through zoom.

During the training, participants were lectured on how to maximize the potential of money, the importance of systematic investing, smart money budgeting, and how to plan for the future.

Moreover, the BiPSU invited two speakers virtually in zoom namely Mrs. Avelyn Garcia, Executive Vice-President of Unleash International, and UnLeash President and CEO Mr. Vic Garcia.

Mr. Garcia reminded the participants to value every centavo they earn.

"Have this mindset of ‘Piso Yan, Hindi Piso lang’," he added.
