Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Regional Office VIII Director Imelda C. Laceras said she was ‘amazed’ on the completed and on-going infrastructure projects and equipment on BiPSU Main Campus and its satellite campus in Biliran during the FY2022 On-site Validation Visit last May 12.

“I have seen how BiPSU have grown to where you are right now, and I can honestly say that I’m amazed. I’m overwhelmed with what I saw,” she said.

The Regional Director, together with Senior Budget and Management Specialist Ms. Solie T. Dosado, Chief Budget and Management Specialists Ms. Juvy A. Lobedica and Ms. Florita M. Lacdo-o, validated the extent of the implementation of capital outlay projects and other related programs and projects of the university.

Sites that were visited during the inspection were the BiPSU gymnasium, student center, ARPA-RADAR Simulator of the School of Maritime Education, Faculty and Employees’ Academic and Wellness Center, ongoing construction of the 5-storey Graduate School and Administration Building, University Dormitory of Naval and Biliran Campuses, University Sports Center, 3-storey Ceramics Building, and the newly completed 4-storey Technology Building and Automotive Laboratory Building.

According to BiPSU University president, Dr. Victor Cañezo Jr., the activity is a perfect opportunity for the university to showcase all the significant accomplishments which undeniably improved the quality of the delivery of services to the stakeholders and have been so helpful in the many audits and accreditations that the university had.

“In fact, as proof of our integrity and wholehearted service, we have been recognized by DBM Regional office VIII in 2020 as an Outstanding Physical Accomplishments Performer" and as "Top Performer: Income Collection Rate" for Fiscal Year 2019,” Dr. Cañezo added.

Moreover, during the activity preparatory works and procedures being undertaken by BiPSU relative to the FY 2023 budget proposals were also presented.

Dir. Laceras also expressed her gratitude to BiPSU for welcoming her team to the University.
