In a bid to underscore the significance of children's well-being, the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED) program at Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) actively participated in the celebration of World Children's Day. The event, held at the University Hostel Function Hall A, featured a pajama party attended by invited children.
Organized by the Future Educators for Young Children (FEYC), the event included a range of activities for the children. These activities, planned by the department, comprised a talent show, puppet show, film screening, storytelling session, science experiment, and parlor games. The children showcased their enthusiasm throughout the event, culminating in the distribution of rewards for their active participation.
During an interview, BECED freshman Fritzy B. Torres emphasized the significance of such initiatives in underlining the importance of children’s rights and ensuring their well-being. Torres stated, “World Children's Day can impact not just a student but also every individual's life by raising awareness about their rights, promoting education, and providing opportunities to voice their opinions on issues that affect them directly.”
Ynna Gaviola Manlangit, the Vice President for Internal Affairs of FEYC, highlighted that the culmination event is an integral part of the department’s annual activities, aligning with the core focus of their program.
World Children’s Day is a commemoration of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.
BiPSU's active participation in this event reflects the institution's dedication to promoting, celebrating, and fostering a better world for children.
