Four faculty members from BiPSU's School of Technology and Computer Studies (STCS) were elected to the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Eastern Visayas' new set of officers last May 13, 2022, at BiPSU University Hostel.
The University's System Administrator, Dr. Reymon Santiañez, was elected as the President of the PSITE-EV, the largest confederation of information technology educators in the region.
Moreover, Mr. Evan Quiroz was elected as Assistant Secretary, while BSCS Chairperson Dr. Reynold Bustillo was elected as the Auditor. STCS Dean Dr. Chona B. Sabinay was also chosen as one of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Santiañez, who will helm the organization for the AY 2022-2023, explained the importance of the University's and IT educator's involvement in the organization.
"The PSITE functions as a venue for the optimization and Development of IT education. This relates to faculty, curricula, projects, research, resources, linkages, and support on policy education," Dr. Reymon said.
In addition, Dr. Santiañez encouraged educators in the University to participate and be a member of the organization. This can open possible training, workshops, and seminars that can enhance skills in the field of IT. He also claimed that PSITE serves as a Bridge for IT educators.
