Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) initiated discussions with the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) regarding potential collaboration to expand their online education offerings. BiPSU President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr. led the virtual meeting with UPOU Chancellor Dr. Merlinda P. Bandalaria and Dr. Myra Collado Almodiel on March 5, focusing on distance education strategies.

The session delved into UPOU's expertise in developing and delivering online courses, overcoming challenges unique to distance learning, and navigating accreditation processes within the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) framework.

UPOU, known for its leadership in open learning and distance education in the Philippines, offers BiPSU an opportunity for partnership, guidance, and mentorship.

Key officials from BiPSU, including Dr. Susan S. Bentor, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Joedel Penaranda, Executive Assistant to the President, and Mr. Jeson Vinas, Special Assistant for Research and Innovation, also participated in the session.
