Eighty (80) BS Nursing students were conferred with their nursing pins and badges during the 14th Capping, Badge Investiture and Candle Lighting Ceremonies of the School of Nursing Health Sciences (SNHS) last November 15 at BiPSU gymnasium.

Dr. Jovy Dia R. Saniel, dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS), explained that the annual  ceremonies signify the student nurses' acceptance of the challenges in the nursing profession.

In his message, University President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr. reminded the nursing students of their roles and significance as future nurses and doctors.

"Your caps signify your service to the people and the light that will brighten the darkness of this world. You are the light of the future as you come in service of the patients and those in need."

Meanwhile, Mr. John Dave Naagas, operating room nurse at Eastern Visayas Medical Center (EVMC) and ceremony guest speaker, emphasized to the student nurses the importance of upholding and making a difference in society.

"Let the beginning of your dreams be today by having the motivation and strength to cherish and uphold the principles and traditions of the nursing profession," Mr. Naagas said.
