BiPSU hosts one-stop shop and job fair 2022

Biliran Province State University, through its External Affairs Office, in cooperation with Public Employment and Services Office (PESO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) hosted a one-stop shop and job fair dubbed as WoW Trabaho Handog ni BiPSU, today, August 11 at the university gymnasium.

Aimed at providing employment opportunities for Biliranon job seekers and help them process documentary requirements for employment, the said activity gathered local agencies and business establishments in the province and in the region.

In his welcome message, Dr. Victor C. Cañezo Jr., stressed that the job fair is one of the initiatives of the institution to help the stakeholders, alumni, and fellow Biliranons "thrive even against the pandemic".

"This also speaks about our continued commitment to ensure that no BiPSUnista, particularly our alumni will be left behind," Dr. Cañezo added.

Participating government agencies include DOLE, Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth),  Pagtutulungan sa Kinabukasan: Ikaw, Bangko, Industriya at Gobyerno (Pag-IBIG), BiPSU Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) Naval Campus, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Biliran Electric Cooperative Inc. (BILECO),  National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and Department of Education - Division of Biliran.

Mr. Francisco A. Segovia, Jr., representative of DOLE Regional Director Mr. Henry John S. Albuena, expressed his appreciation to the participating agencies for the said activity.

"I would like to thank all the participating agencies who are one with us in our pursuit of improving the economic situation here in Region 8, particularly here in the province of Biliran," he added.

Agencies participated in the event namely: Sun Life of Canada, Phils Inc., Freight Process Outsourcing Solutions Inc, Polycentrik Lending Corporation, LCTC Allied Services,  Pipols Synergy Management Services  Inc., DES Marketing Inc, City Hardware-Naval, Kickstart Food Corporation Jollibee-Naval, A.R. Hotel, MLhuillier, Prince Hypermart, Virtual  Staffing Solutions OPC, Prince Superstore, ALS Traveller's Shoppe,  Mardel International Management Services Inc., ERRX Recruitment Consulting, 1st Northern International Placement Inc., Ascend International Services Inc., and Philippine Human Resources Worldwide Employment Co.

On the other hand, Biliran Provincial Governor  Hon. Gerard Roger Espina, the guest of honor, represented by Hon. Alan Paul Tubis, conveyed his appreciation to the partner agencies especially to BiPSU.

"BiPSU will be reaching its 50th year and with this activity you will be providing golden opportunities to our applicants," he expressed.

Moreover, BiPSU Institutional Education -Job Placement Officer, Dr. Miguel E. Supremo Jr. mentioned that the job fair and one-stop- shop is a great opportunity to uplift the quality of life of the job seekers.

The Job Fair is one of the series of activities for the 50th founding anniversary celebration of BiPSU.
