In recognition of the university’s commendable financial, physical, and income performance for the fiscal year (FY) 2020, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Regional Office VIII awarded Biliran Province State University during the Regional Virtual Full-time Delivery Unit Meeting held yesterday, via video conferencing.

Among the ten (10) State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the region, BIPSU ranked first as Disbursements Budget Utilization Rate (BUR) Performer garnering a 92.20% disbursement rate for FY 2020.

The institution also received the Physical Accomplishment Award in recognition for sustaining and improving its overall physical performance in the FY 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA) vis-a-vis the 2019 GAA; and 3rd place for Top Obligations BUR Performer for its commendable utilization of allotments in the FY 2020, garnering a 99.51% Obligations Budget Utilization Rate (BUR).

The said awards are based on the Agency Performance Review (APR) report of BiPSU for FY 2020 covering Financial, Physical, and Income Performance.

Moreover, the meeting was attended by the university presidents and other officials of the 10 SUCs in Eastern Visayas and the Regional Directors of the Technical Education Services and Development Authority (TESDA)- RO VIII and Commission on Higher Education (CHED)- RO VIII.

Last year, BiPSU also received the top award as an "Outstanding Physical Accomplishments Performer" in recognition for the outstanding Physical Performance and as "Top Performer: Income Collection Rate" for obtaining an income collection rate of 102.65% that exceeded the target collection in FY 2019.
