Biliran Province State University is now a 3-Star university based on the QS Stars Rating System of the Quacquarelli Symonds, one of the world’s leading analytics for the global higher education sector.

“The QS Intelligence Unit has, through rigorous and independent data collection and analysis of performance metrics as set out in the QS Stars™ methodology, rated Biliran Province State University as a Three Stars institution,” the report stressed as BiPSU was rated for excellence.

The QS evaluated BiPSU against eight criteria. BiPSU clutched impressive 5 Stars in multiple categories: Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Social Responsibility, and Inclusiveness, 4-Stars for Facilities, and 3-Stars for Program Strength. The university also secured 11 points out of 50 for Internationalization, validating the growing globalization and internationalization efforts of the institution.

The university has secured total points of 610 out of 1,000. BiPSU could have earned 4-Stars with a minimum required 550 points if it were not for the Internationalization criteria, which need the presence of international students and faculty. Meanwhile, 700 points are required to qualify as a 5-Stars university.

With this, BiPSU officially joins the roster of 21 universities in the Philippines to have been rated by the leading analytics for higher education worldwide as of date, among all the [1]2,419 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country. BiPSU is the second university in region 8 to have qualified for QS Stars Rating.

Recently, the World Universities with Real Impact (WURI) has ranked BiPSU 22nd in the Crisis Management Rankings for 2022 and ranked 3rd in the Philippines in the same category. Under the same ranking system, BiPSU is rated to be part of the 101-200 ranked universities across the globe.
