BiPSU Tigers ready to roar and vie for medals in 37th Regional SCUAA Games

The 37th Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games has officially kicked off, and the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) is ready to unleash its Tigers, a formidable force of 264 student-athletes, onto the competitive battlegrounds. The six-day sporting spectacle, hosted this year by the Visayas State University (VSU) in Baybay City, Leyte, promises a showcase of Eastern Visayas' athletic prowess.

Representing BiPSU with unwavering determination, these student-athletes, along with their dedicated coaches and university key officials, are set to face off against counterparts from eleven State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the region. The institutions in contention include the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP), Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU), Eastern Samar State University (ESSU), Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT), Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Samar State University (SSU), Leyte Normal University (LNU), University of the Philippines Tacloban (UPT), and the hosting institution, Visayas State University (VSU).

The Tigers will showcase their prowess in various sporting competitions, spanning Arnis, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Baseball, Beach Volleyball, Chess, Dance Sports (Latin and Standard), Futsal, Karatedo, Sepak Takraw, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Taekwondo-Kyorugi, and Taekwondo-Pomsae.

With the theme "Weaving Strengths: Hinabing Kusog," this year's SCUAA event embodies the power of solidarity as 11 participating SUCs have rallied to amplify a united Eastern Visayas. It's not just a sporting competition; it's a celebration of strength and unity.

The send-off event for the BiPSU Tigers was a culmination of support, starting with a Holy Mass at the Students Center on October 20. This was followed by an orientation, where the University President, Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., and Sports Director, Engr. Carmel Sigrid Docallos, reminded the athletes of their responsibilities, precautionary measures, and the dos and don'ts as representatives of BiPSU.

The athletes are now fully prepared to make their mark at the regional games. As they raise the black and orange banner of BiPSU, they aim to exemplify the university's prowess in both academics and sports. Their rigorous preparation has honed their skills, setting the stage for an exciting battle of strategy and endurance.

As the Tigers take the field, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of an entire institution. The BiPSU community stands united, weaving strength, and roaring with firm support as their athletes vie for glory in the 37th Regional SCUAA games.
