Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) conducted a symposium titled “Crafting of Proposals for Research, Innovation, and Extension Grants for 2025 CHED Funding.” The event, conducted via Zoom on May 17, aimed to equip BiPSU’s teaching personnel with essential knowledge about the requirements and guidelines set forth by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for funding opportunities.
BiPSU extended invitations to CHED personnel to serve as resource persons for the said event, including Ms. Mayumi G. Belandres, OIC-CHED RMD, Mr. Gerhald I. Villasis, CHED RMD Senior Education Program Specialist, and Ms. Adelma C. Tercia, CHED RMD Senior Education Program Specialist.
During the symposium, Ms. Belandres and Mr. Villasis discussed the guidelines and requirements for the CHED Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG), while Ms. Tercia covered the CHED Grants-In-Aid (GIA) program. Both sessions provided insights for faculty members seeking funding support.
BiPSU President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., along with key officials, research and extension chairpersons, and faculty members from various departments, participated in the symposium. Dr. Canezo delivered an inspiring message, encouraging faculty members to embrace the challenge of crafting proposals that not only meet criteria but also exceed expectations.
“The path in submitting proposal to CHED for funding is daunting task. But, let us embrace this challenge with enthusiasm and determination,” said Dr. Cañezo.
Notably, BiPSU has previously benefited from the aforementioned CHED funding, which has significantly improved the university's facilities and academic resources.
