“It is a test of your durability.”
With a noble push to ensure that students are not only graduate-ready but fully prepared for professional licensure, Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) commences LET’s Succeed 2026: Coaching Session and LET Review today, April 13, at the university gymnasium.
Spearheaded by the School of Teacher Education (STED), this initiative gathered pre-service teachers (PSTs) from both the Naval and Biliran campuses, alongside faculty members and staff, for an intensive review program aimed at equipping future educators for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
The activity kicked off with expert-led sessions from the Falculan Twins’ Review Center (FTRC), a strategic partner credited for producing multiple national topnotchers from BiPSU over the past three years.
“Today is more than just a scheduled event but an investment in your dreams, your competence, and your readiness to face one of the most important milestones in your journey: the Licensure Examination for Teachers,” said Dr. Jason V. Ang, dean of STED–Naval.
This undertaking aims to equip the PSTs with the knowledge, discipline and mindset needed to excel in the licensure exam and in their future profession. It also reinforces the university’s commitment to sustaining its strong LET performance, having consistently recorded high passing rates among first-time takers, often reaching 80 to 90 percent and above.
Through this, BiPSU aims to further position itself among the country’s top-performing institutions in teacher education and continue producing Philippine topnotchers.
Leading the coaching sessions were renowned lecturers from FTRC, Dr. Kathleen Falculan-Hijosa and Dr. Theresa Falculan-Misola, joined by Mr. Gandi Lexter Lupian, who delivered engaging and comprehensive discussions covering key areas of the licensure examination, providing PSTs—fresh from their on-the-job training—with both academic reinforcement and practical insights.
Despite being invited as guest lecturers, they also awarded cash incentives, granting up to ₱3,000 to selected pre-service teachers and ₱500 each to attending faculty members, as a gesture of support and encouragement for active participation in the session.
Moreover, University President Prof. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr. addressed the participants, offering words of encouragement anchored on perseverance and self-belief.
“Starting today, tell yourself that you are still learning,” Prof. Cañezo stated. “The more you know, the more you realize how much there is to learn. Humility and a smile will help you achieve your dream of becoming an LPT.”
He urged the PSTs to remain focused and determined in finishing and passing the examination. Additionally, Prof. Cañezo highlighted the Pygmalion Effect, reminding students that belief in one’s potential can significantly influence success.
Along with strengthening preparations, the university president shared his book, Transborder Leadership and Weaving Worthiness, a recognized Best Paper during his executive class at the Development Academy of the Philippines, telling narratives about transformative leadership. The book was presented as a symbol of weaving of worthiness (WoW), inspiring students to rise through resilience and continuous learning.
Furthermore, the lecturers also conducted a separate coaching session for members of the STED faculty, aimed at refreshing and strengthening their subject mastery and instructional competencies.
Said program will run until April 30, ensuring that BiPSU’s pre-service teachers receive sustained guidance from experts and mentors who understand both the academic and real-world demands of the teaching profession.
This initiative reflects the university’s continuing commitment to academic excellence and licensure readiness, demonstrating that at BiPSU, education goes beyond graduation, as the institution actively equips its future educators with the competence, confidence, and character needed to succeed in the profession.
