Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) leaps to the Top 14 for this year’s World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Crisis Management Category from its 22nd rank in 2022.

In the latest ranking, BiPSU ranks top 3 in the country, along with other prominent universities in the Philippines, such as Far Eastern University - Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF), Cebu Normal University (CNU), FEU Institute of Technology (FEU Tech), University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, and CNU-Medellin Campus.

Moreover, the university also ranks 1st in the region as the sole institution that made it to the top 50 in the Crisis Management category.

In addition, the university secured its spot once again in the WURI Global Top Innovative Universities category joining the 101-200 rank, making BiPSU the 7th innovative university in the country.

On the other hand, in a Facebook post, BiPSU President Victor C. Canezo Jr. said that this is a testament to BiPSU’s combined effort to achieve this milestone.

“This is the by-product of our continued weaving of worthiness, especially in crisis management,” he added.

It can be noted that this is the third time in a row that the university has placed in the two categories of the said ranking. BiPSU has been catapulted to the 14th position in the 2023 WURI Crisis Management Rankings, compared to its 22nd rank in 2022. The university also maintains its position within the 101-200 range in WURI's Global Top Innovative Universities category. BiPSU was also ranked by WURI as Top 51-100 in Fourth Industrial Revolution, Industrial Application, and Student Mobility and Openness. On the QS front, BiPSU received a 3-Star rating, with individual 5-Star ratings in the categories of Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Social Responsibility, and Inclusiveness. BiPSU stands as the second university in its region to qualify for QS Stars Rating and joins a prestigious list of 31 universities in the Philippines recognized by QS through the Stars rating.
