Tacloban City - Biliran Province State University officials, headed by University President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., successfully gained recommendation for endorsements from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for the university’s six (6) proposed IT and Infrastructure Projects during the Technical Budget Hearing for FY 2025 held at C Pavilion on April 29.

Among the key officials representing BiPSU were University President, Dr. Cañezo, Atty. Pahmi Ampaso, Chief Administrative Officer - Finance, Engr. Jessie Cerera, Director for Institutional Planning Office (IPO), Aileen May D. Mecaydor, Budget Officer III, and Engr. Ronn Lennard L. Napala, Planning Officer I.

During the budget hearing, BiPSU, through Engr. Cerera, presented its proposed IT and infrastructure projects for FY 2025, totaling nearly 600,000,000.00. For the main campus, the projects include the completion of the Renovation and Repair of the Academic Building for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Renovation and Repair of the Science and Technology Building, the Construction of the 5-storey Business Hub Building, and the Implementation of Academic Digital Innovation and ICT Systems. On the other hand, the proposed projects for the Biliran campus comprise the Renovation and Repair of the Academic H-Building and Library Phase 1 and the Construction of the Concrete Road Network.

Dr. Cañezo expressed high hopes that the above-mentioned projects under the Capital Outlay of BiPSU for the next cycle year shall be approved by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and be granted by the Congress through Hon. Congressman Gerardo J. Espina, Jr, Senate and the President of the Philippines, Hon. Ferdinand E. Marcos. Jr.
