Spicing up the institution's golden founding anniversary, Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) held its annual Literary Musical Competition last August 22 at the university gymnasium.
The literary musical competitions and institutional quiz bowl drew cheers and applause from the students of Naval and Biliran campuses as contestants displayed their talents in extemporaneous speaking, vocal solo, folk dance, poster making, and on-the-spot painting.
Moreover, the Kundiman vocal solo contestants' crystal-clear voices reverberated throughout the gymnasium. Songbird, Jabes Balondo, a student from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, won first place, followed by Laurene Fe Urbano from the School of Arts and Sciences, and Mikefel Ocampo from the School of Criminal Justice Education.
The battle of wit and intelligence transpired during an institutional quiz bowl competition where eight schools competed for the championship.
The School of Teacher Education team was hailed as this year's champion, while the School of Criminal Justice Education and the School of Arts and Sciences won second and third place, respectively.
Additionally, the extemporaneous speaking competition demonstrated the intelligence and conviction of the students. The School of Criminal and Justice Education dominated the extemporaneous speaking, followed by the School of Teacher Education and the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
The schools also competed in various dance and arts competitions, including folk dance, on-the-spot painting, and poster making.
The School of Teacher Education took first place in the folk dance competition, followed by the School of Management and Entrepreneurship and the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
The first prize in poster making was also clinched by the School of Engineering. The Schools of Teacher Education and Criminal and Justice Education bagged the second and third places, respectively.
Meanwhile, the School of Technology and Computer Studies won first place in the on-the-spot painting, while the School of Engineering took second and third places.
The winners of the different competitions will represent the BiPSU in the upcoming Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Festival of Talents and Convention 2022.
