BiPSU marks Teachers’ Day with special treats for teaching and support to teaching personnel

As a gesture of gratitude and appreciation, Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) marked World Teachers' Day by honoring its teaching and support to teaching personnel with a day of relaxation and pampering at the university's Wellness Center on October 12. The event, known as "Teachers' Wellness Day," also coincided with a significant milestone for the university, celebrating its journey to Universityhood.

Organized under the initiative of University President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., the day was dedicated to expressing appreciation for the teaching and support to teaching personnel who shape the university’s academic journey.

The event featured an array of complimentary services, including pedicures, manicures, hair treatments, haircuts, hair coloring, facial treatments, fitness workouts, and rejuvenating massages. The free services extended to more than a hundred teaching and support to teaching personnel, with some taking advantage of the offerings multiple times.

Faculty Regent Hon. Vennie G. Coton expressed his gratitude towards Dr. Canezo for this initiative, saying, “I would like to thank our dear university president because it is one of his initiatives to provide this particular service to our faculty and of course the admin and support staff.”

Hon. Coton explained that the purpose of this initiative was to reward the teaching and support to teaching personnel for their service to the university, acknowledging their dedication. He said, “It’s a payback time for the faculty for their rendered service to the university and administration. Additionally, this free service initiative is a way of showing our love and support to the teaching and non teaching staff in our very simple way and the BiPSU way because we make sure that everybody enjoys our celebration."

The services were provided by experienced professionals from local salons, with the additional support of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) graduating students specializing in related fields. This collaboration allowed the beneficiaries to relax and provided students with valuable exposure and experience for their future careers.

The celebration of "Teachers' Wellness Day" at BiPSU is a testament to the appreciation and gratitude educators rightly deserve for their dedication to nurturing the minds of the next generation. It stands as a token of the university's commitment to the well-being of its invaluable teaching and support to teaching personnel.
