BiPSU Weaves Philippine Pride at Asia Pacific Summer Program 2025

Daffodil International University (DIU) in Bangladesh proudly inaugurated the first edition of the Asia Pacific Summer Program (APSP) 2025 on July 19, under the motto “Together, A Great Summer.” Hosted in collaboration with the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), the program runs through July 27 at DIU’s vibrant green campus, fostering a "Weaving of Worthiness" through international collaboration, intercultural immersion, and academic excellence.

The opening ceremony welcomed 33 participants from 10 countries, including Tajikistan, Afghanistan, the Philippines, India, Russia, Nigeria, Somaliland, Sierra Leone, and Bangladesh. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of DIU, and Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir, Vice Chancellor, along with other distinguished university leaders, addressed the participants, emphasizing the program’s role in building global connections and transformative learning experiences.

“Build bridges through the relationships you form here,” Dr. Khan urged. “Let these diverse perspectives and networks shape your future and enrich your communities.”

Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) took center stage, representing the Philippines with 17 students and 5 faculty members from its Naval and Biliran campuses, marking its first in-person participation. Prof. Víctor C. Cañezo, EdD, CHRP, President of BiPSU, expressed his enthusiasm for the program’s impact. “This opportunity strengthens our commitment to global academic excellence and empowers our students and faculty to contribute meaningfully to international dialogue and collaboration,” he said.

Ms. Chiejheaca Jehanna Yu, Director of BiPSU’s International Affairs Office, highlighted the significance of the event. “We are very grateful to represent not just BiPSU, but also the Philippines, in this vibrant celebration of learning, culture, and international friendship, as we take part in this international linkage,” she expressed.

Participants will engage in 3-credit courses, choosing from Social Business for Sustainable Development, AI and Business Analytics, or Mobile Journalism. The program is enriched with industry visits, field trips, and cultural exchanges, offering a holistic academic and intercultural experience. Several participants voiced their enthusiasm for these opportunities, eager to explore new knowledge and perspectives.

Organized by DIU and AUAP, #APSP2025 positions the university as a hub for international dialogue, fostering global linkages and empowering students to create positive change in their communities.  #WoWBiPSU #APSP2025 #BiPSUGoingGlobal
