The Molder Publication, the official student publication of Biliran Province State University Laboratory High School (BiPSU LHS), secured numerous awards at the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2024 held at Naval Central School (NCS) SPED Center, Naval, Biliran from February 22 to 24.
The publication achieved top placements and recognitions in various individual and group categories, amassing a total of 15 main awards and 17 special awards.
In individual events, Johanna Mae Balondo placed first in Editorial Cartooning English. Brent William Caparro and Leemark Anthony Cuizon both received second place finishes in Column Writing, English and Filipino, respectively. Joy Anne Nadua and Jake Ivan Manatad claimed the top and third spots in Sci-Tech Writing Filipino, while Mikhail Dwayne Fernandez earned fourth place in Sci-Tech Writing English. Charilyn dela Peña rounded out the individual achievements with fifth place in Feature Writing Filipino.
The TV and Radio Broadcasting teams continued their winning streak, successfully defending their titles in the English categories. The Radio Broadcasting English team earned special awards for Best Male Anchor, Best Female Anchor, Best Technical Application, and Best Infomercial. Likewise, the Radio Broadcasting Filipino team received recognition for Best Male Anchor, Best News Presenter, Best Infomercial, and Best Script. The TV Broadcasting Filipino team secured second place in the competition.
The Molder's school paper garnered recognitions in both English and Filipino. The English edition received first place for Best News Page, Best Editorial Page, and Best Layout and Page Design, and second place for Best Editorial Page, Best Sports Page, and Best Sci-Tech Page. The Filipino edition placed second for Best News Page, Best Sports Page, and Best Layout and Page Design.
Qualifiers from BiPSU LHS will compete in the upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) 2024, scheduled to take place in Calbayog City in April.
