Energy Development Corporation (EDC) donated decommissioned equipment to Biliran Province State University through the ceremonial signing of a Deed of Donation on August 19 at the EDC Office in the Origami Building, Ormoc City.
The BiPSU delegation was led by Vice President for Administration, Finance, and Sustainable Management Engr. Vivencio A. Pelesco and Dean of the School of Engineering Engr. Carmel Sigrid D. Docallos, while EDC executives were led by Facility Operations and Leyte Site Head Engr. Estanislao M. Pialago.
Under the Deed of Donation, EDC will transfer several pieces of decommissioned equipment to BiPSU, including an Ormat Energy Converter (OEC) Power Shelter, an OEC turbine, two condensate return pumps, a six-inch wedge-type gate valve, a 30HP motor, and a pneumatic actuator.
The donated equipment will be used for educational, research, and non-commercial training purposes at the BiPSU Naval Campus, particularly to support the hands-on learning of Engineering students. The Deed provides that ownership of the donated equipment transfers to BiPSU upon its signing, with the University assuming responsibility for the transport, maintenance, use, and compliance with applicable requirements related to the equipment.
BiPSU expresses its appreciation to EDC for the donation and support, which will provide students with practical learning opportunities and greater exposure to actual equipment used in the industry.
