Representatives from Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) - Tanauan Campus recently visited Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) to benchmark the curriculum and instructional practices of its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program. The benchmarking session occurred on May 3 at the Office of the President (OP) Convergence Room.

The visit saw the participation of key figures including Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., President of BiPSU; Mr. Carlito Cabas, Jr., Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) Office; and Dr. Mafel A. Piol, Dean of the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME), alongside SME's program chairpersons and faculty. The delegation from EVSU Tanauan, led by Dr. Egbert Del Pilar, Head of the Technology Department, actively engaged in discussions and workshops.

The benchmarking activity featured presentations and discussions on various aspects of program development and enhancement. Mr. Cabas and Dr. Piol shared insights into the accreditation journey that resulted in BiPSU's Level III re-accreditation from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). Additionally, Dr. Mark Erwin S. Duterte and Ms. Eden Rojas-Calvez explored into curriculum and instructional strategies, while Dr. Alexander Rex E. Sañosa focused on faculty development. Ms. Rhee Antonnette Balondo, assisted by Dr. Piol, highlighted the importance of extension and community involvement, and Mr. Joe Bryan Cadiente addressed library concerns.

The benchmarking session served as a preparatory step for EVSU-Tanauan as it gears up for its forthcoming AACCUP Accreditation Level III Survey visit for their BSHM program.
