Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) has been acknowledged as a regional finalist for the NextGen Regional Accelerator Award in Local Governance by the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office VIII (DILG RO-8). The accolade acknowledges distinguished partners of DILG Regional Offices for their substantial support and contributions to the implementation of projects, programs, and activities (PPAs) by the Local Government Resource Centers (LGRCs) for Local Government Units (LGUs).

BiPSU stands as one of the four regional finalists among all Learning Resource Institutes (LRIs) in Eastern Visayas (EV), alongside Leyte Normal University (LNU), Samar State University (SSU), and Southern Leyte State University (SLSU).

In addition to the regional finalist recognition, BiPSU received a certificate of recognition for its support and commitment to the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council's efforts towards progressive, peaceful, empowered, and resilient communities.

The recognitions were received by Mr. Joedel O. Peñeranda, BiPSU’s Institutional Planning Director, on behalf of President Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr.

The regional accolades garnered by the university highlight the success of its community extension activities for LGUs in Biliran Province.
