Dr. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., CHRP, President of Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), has been elected as the new President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) for Region 8. This marks the first time in history that a BiPSU President has been chosen to lead PASUC.

The election, held at the Senate of the Philippines in the GSIS Building, Financial Center, Pasay City, saw Dr. Cañezo winning the majority vote. His new responsibilities include overseeing the ten State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Eastern Visayas region.

Dr. Cañezo succeeds Dr. Edgardo Tulin, former President of Visayas State University (VSU), who served in the role since 2021.
