Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), under the leadership of President Prof. Victor C. Cañezo, Jr., EdD, CHRP, is gearing up to host two major international conferences in 2025: the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Academic Research (ICMAR 2025) and the 6th International Conference on Poverty and Sustainable Development (IPOVCON 2025). Critical to the planning process, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) and Samar State University (SSU) conducted thorough ocular inspections on July 16, 2025 to ensure the success of these global events.

SLSU, represented by Vice President Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, led the ocular visit for ICMAR 2025, scheduled for September 16-19, 2025, to advance multidisciplinary academic research. Meanwhile, SSU, led by President Dr. Redentor S. Palencia, who also serves as the IPOVCON team leader, conducted the ocular inspection for IPOVCON 2025, set for October 8-9, 2025, at BiPSU. Themed "Technology-Driven Solutions for Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Sustainability," IPOVCON 2025 is co-hosted with the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development - Regional Office 8 (DEPDev).

A coordination meeting at Dasig Hall convened key stakeholders, including Prof. Cañezo, Naval Mayor Gretchen Stephanie M. Espina, Dr. Palencia, Dr. Sy, and BiPSU Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, Dr. Roland A. Niez, BiPSU Research and Development Office Director Dr. Pearl Irish de Paz. The meeting focused on leveraging insights from the ocular inspections to finalize conference logistics, define the Local Government Unit of Naval’s supportive role, and align both events with regional development goals. A key outcome was the invitation to Mayor Espina to serve as a plenary speaker for IPOVCON 2025, a decision supported by all academic partners.

The ocular inspections have laid a strong foundation for BiPSU to host these landmark conferences, ensuring seamless execution and impactful outcomes. By fostering collaboration with LGU Naval and academic partners, BiPSU is poised to drive global conversations on multidisciplinary research and innovative solutions for poverty alleviation, solidifying its role as a leader in academic and societal progress.
