Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) recently conducted a three-day workshop titled "3-Day Futures Research Workshop: University Futures Research Agenda and Roadmap" at the Hostel Function Hall A from February 5 to 7. The event, organized by the Strategic Innovation and Knowledge Laboratory (SIKLAB) Center in collaboration with the Institutional Planning Office (IPO) and the Research and Development Office (RDO), aimed to enhance the university's capabilities in futures-thinking and strategic foresight.

The workshop focused on equipping university personnel with tools and methodologies for conducting future-oriented research and establishing a university-wide futures research agenda. Renowned futurist and CEO of Center Engaged Foresight, Prof. Shermon O. Cruz, served as the resource speaker throughout the event.

The first day of the workshop centered on crafting futures research agenda, enabling participants to identify emerging trends and anticipate global challenges. Participants also presented their future research concepts, receiving feedback from Prof. Cruz.

The second day of the workshop focused on research questions and inquiry, guiding participants in formulating impactful and relevant research questions. On the third day, the focus shifted to research methodology, providing participants with insights into selecting and utilizing appropriate methods for their futures research projects. Participants also presented their futures research proposals during this session.

The workshop saw attendance from faculty members, research coordinators, research instructors, and other key personnel from the university.
