BiPSU SNHS holds first joint Pinning and Testimonial Ceremony

Fifty-seven (57) graduating students and forty-six (46) board passers from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) of the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) attended the first joint Pinning and Testimonial Ceremony held at the university gymnasium on July 3.

Dr. Jovy Dia R. Saniel, SNHS Dean, congratulates the parents of the graduating students of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program and the newly-registered nurses in her message.

“You have successfully made it, and a week after next will be your graduation ceremony, and then that is just the beginning of another chapter,” Dr. Saniel said.

Dr. Saniel also added that the success of the new nurses signifies the commitment of the institution to mold and produce world-class healthcare professionals.

Furthermore, BiPSU President Dr. Victor C. Canezo Jr. also encouraged the graduating students of BSN to do their best and affirms the readiness of future nurses due to the dedication of the highly competent faculty of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

“The pin you received is not merely an ornament but a symbol of your dedication, hard work, and above all, your commitment to the service of humanity,” Canezo said.

Meanwhile, the event's guest speaker, Mr. Venne Jack Bangcoyo, left inspiring message for the graduating BSN students and newly registered nurses.

“We, Filipino nurses, may be disadvantaged of not having the up-to-date technology and equipment, but we have the upper hand of having the unparalleled ingenuity and creativity to strive for what's best for our patients given the unfavorable circumstances,” Bangcoyo said.

He also stated that Filipino nurses are undeniably overworked, undervalued, and underpaid, but they should not just look for compensation.

“Find a home where we are valued and appreciated,” Bangcoyo said.

On the other hand, it can be noted that the university garnered a hundred percent passing rate after all 46 BiPSU nursing graduates and first-time takers passed the recently concluded May 2023 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE).
