A feast of creativity, vibrant performances and talents, the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME) lifts BiPSunistas’ spirits during the 2nd SME Days, dubbed as SME Fiesta 2022, July 20-22.

With the theme "Pakaritay sa SME Fiesta: Making Tourism and Hospitality More Engaging in this New Normal,", the 3-day celebration was participated by SME faculty and students from the departments of Hospitality Management (HM) and Tourism Management (TM).

In his message, the University President Dr. Victor C. Canezo commended the SME faculty and students for coming up with a “very WOW SME Days celebration”.

“A BiPSUnista is innovative, creative, resourceful, just like what you are doing now,” he said. “I am amazed with your creativity and resourcefulness; very colorful, jolly, creative.”

He also encouraged faculty and students to uphold the core values of the university which is the Brilliance, Innovation, Progress, Service and Unity.

“We should be united with one another so that we can weave of worthiness, not only for BiPSU but our respective family, our community, our country and the rest of the world,” he added.

Meanwhile, in an interview, the SME faculty said that the greatest lesson that the SME Days celebration brought to both faculty and students is the establishment of community connection where students able to present the 21st century skills.

“For the Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) the SME Fiesta celebration helped a lot in upholding the mission of BiPSU in weaving of worthiness through the students’ involvement because in this event, they were given the responsibilities to create, perform and facilitate respective activity as their actual scenario of what they have learned traditionally.”

The faculty also underscored the significance of the celebration in giving holistic development to students through various activities held during the 3-day celebration.

Furthermore, the event highlighted various activities such as the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Contest, Research Pageant, Literary-Musical Contest, PATHFit Culmination Activity, Search for Mr. and Ms. SME 2022, Alumni Homecoming, and SME Students' Night to epitomize SME students' learned skills and talents through various academic activities, primarily in the areas of research and production, and to promote the tourism industry.

The SME Fiesta is part of the months-long celebration of BiPSU’s 50th anniversary anchored on the theme "Tradition and Transformation: A Celebration of BiPSU's Golden Years of Weaving of Worthiness."
