BiPSU deploys health personnel, students for provincewide COVID vax drive
BiPSU health personnel, faculty and student-volunteers of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) participated the 3-day Bayanihan Bakunahan: National COVID-19 Vaccination Days last November 29 to December 1.
42 nursing student-volunteers, 10 faculty and, 5 medical dental clinic staff were deployed in the eight municipalities of Biliran and were assigned on the registration, checking of vital signs, counselling and recovery areas.
Dr. Ana Maria M. Jaguros, university physician said that the said initiative is a response to the Department of Health's (DOH) call for assistance from local agencies including BiPSU to expedite the inoculation of Biliranons who have not been vaccinated yet.
Dr. Jaguros took part on the screening committee, and attended the launching program with the DM staff, Mr. Alison Raymond C. Saniel.
Present during the program launching include Biliran Gov. Rogelio Espina, DOH-Biliran head Dr. Edgar Veloso, and Biliran Provincial Hospital (BPH) head Dr. Joyce P. Caneja.
Moreover, the said vaccination program was launched per Presidential Proclamation No. 1253, also known as the National Vaccination Days (NVD), which 'directs government agencies, government-owned or controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, and local government units to provide assistance for the National Vaccination Days' effective implementation.'
